What was Medusa's name before she became Medusa? (With snakes for hair, turned by Athena)?

I don't know that Medusa ("guardian, protectress") ever had a different name. She was, however, one of the three Gorgon sisters, the other two being Stheno ("forceful") and Euryale ("far-roaming"). Stheno and Euryale were both immortal, while Medusa was not. All three were monsters with the power to turn anyone who looked upon them into stone. Though the story has it that Medusa was once a beautiful maiden, and was turned into a monster by Athena as punishment for having desecrated her temple by lying with Poseidon in it.
