My husband is badgering me for a dominican divorce. ?

My husband of 18 years has decided that he's no longer interested in being married. I have 2 minor children and he is badgering me for a divorce in the Dominican Republic. I don't want to do it. Is a Dominican divorce recognized in the US? I am from CT and don't want it to come back and bite me later. Please help!
