Have any ladies here ever worn stockings with a garter belt or girdle?

Well, there aren't too many of us vintage gals here on Yahoo, are there? Not to worry, there's more of us around than you'd think! I wear vintage clothes everyday and have been collecting them and wearing them for years. The fashions of the 1940s and 1950s were just so much more glamorous and feminine than anything made today, and the clothing was better made, too. Vintage skirts and dresses were made specifically to be worn with the foundation garments of the day and a lady in those days would not even think of going out of her house without wearing a girdle and stockings. Unless it was for a very, very casual place or event, it just wasn't done and even then she'd still most likely wear stockings with a garter belt under her skirt. Real, authentic fully fashioned stockings are just lovely to wear, so much prettier than pantyhose and a properly fitted girdle is a true joy. Try it once and you'll definitely never go back to pantyhose at the very least and probably end up wanting to wear them daily. A little advice, though, buy everything that catches your eye because you'll always want to wear them after your first time in them. A girl can never have too many pairs of stockings or too many girdles and garter belts in her wardrobe!
