Colonoscopy alternatives?

I was scheduled for a colonoscopy two weeks ago but the preparation solution made me sick. I finished about half of it and could not drink one more drop. I was wondering if there was an alternative in the meantime like an x-ray or an ultrasound. I read that bowel obstructions can be seen in an x-ray. I know that the colonoscopy is the most thorough test but would it be worth it to try some other test before i attempt the colonoscopy again. Because when i scheduled the procedure i had to wait two months
