Why do establishment Republicans continue to call Ron Paul a loon and play down his popularity?

If people cared what Fox News says Ron Paul wouldn't have won the CPAC straw poll - yet they are still playing down his victory and using the same attack antics that have FAILED since election season last year. Why is this?
