I need help with my cat?

I got a kitten a few months ago and i love it but as it has recently started an annoying thing where you will be sitting down and it will pounce on you and start clawing you and biting. It hurts but I tell it off and put it outside the room i am in but then it will start meowing loudly outside until you let it back in then it will just claw and bite you again. When you are eating it will jump up to you and try to get at your food and if you put him aside he will try and claw you. he isn't really a kitten anymore and it i getting annoying, is there a way to stop this?
