Yeah it would be a little weird to ask a stranger if you could take a picture with her. However as you said that she was a boxer I am pretty sure that she is fine with it. Probably thought you were hitting on her especially with the compliment. If she thought it wasn't appropriate she probably wouldn't of gave you her fight schedule.
